Video to the left is my dog, Leon, and I walking through a very crowded street market and celebration in Portsmouth.   Leon, who I called the Winnie the Pooh of Dobermans, needed training despite his awesome personality to be my partner in crime in a public setting like this.   He was not brought up in the city, and so it took many training trips so that he was focused and with me (instead of jumping on people in excitement) when we had these kind of adventures together.

Puppy Training

Training a puppy is very different than training and adult dog in goals and progress.   Beginning at a young age, does circumvent a lot of upcoming problems and begins to prepare you dog for working with you as a team.  If you wait until they are an adolescent, dogs are much stronger and may have learned and practiced some very bad habits for awhile.

Small Dog Training

Many small dogs need training.  Often the training can be harder on the human due to bending down a lot in the beginning.  Many people believe their small dog can not be trained or doesn't have to be.  However training is just as important to the small dog.  Small dogs have different needs in handling from their owner, as they can actually be easily harmed.  This needs balance as well though, so they thoroughly enjoy their life.

Behavioral Modification and Training

There are dogs that have behavioral problems, which makes it very hard for their owners to control them or work with them.  We understand what the causes are for behavioral problems, and are very used to finding ways to improve the dog's behavior over time in conjunction with training to improve the handling and relationship between dog and owner.
